On Wednesday, March 18, 2026, the
College of Hospitality Industry
Management, Suan Sunandha Rajabhat
University, through the Tourism and
Service Industry Management Program,
organized an integrated teaching and
learning activity to provide third-year
students with learning experiences
beyond the traditional classroom. This
activity was part of the course
Meetings, Incentives, Conventions, and
Exhibitions Management
(MICE).
The session was conducted under
the theme “Mega Event and
International Festival
Management”, using the case study
of the “Udon Thani International
Horticultural Expo”, one of
Thailand’s significant
international events. The activity
enabled students to gain practical
insights into the planning, management,
and execution of large-scale events that
have substantial impacts on the economy
and tourism industry.
The event was
honored by the presence of Assistant
Professor Dr. Weera Weerasophon, Dean of
the College of Hospitality Industry
Management, who presided over the
opening ceremony. In addition, Ms.
Parichat Swetsreni, Director of Mega
Event and International Festival
Development from the Thailand Convention
and Exhibition Bureau (Public
Organization), was invited as a guest
speaker to share her direct experiences
and provide in-depth perspectives on the
success behind organizing national-level
events.
Through this
activity, students gained knowledge of
key concepts, strategies, and
professional practices in mega event
management—from event design and
attracting tourists to creating economic
value and enhancing the country’s
image.
